Mid-Century Hostess-Cocktail Aprons

Inside the modern Me, lives a mid-century hostess. I love to entertain and get all dressed up for the occasion. What better way to show that mid-century spirit by wearing a cocktail apron.

I have a small collection of vintage aprons that I like to pull out for an occasion.  In my collection there is the cocktail apron, half-apron and a full apron.  One day I found a website that makes the most beautiful aprons. That company is Heavenly Hostess.

Heavenly Hostess are located in Orange County, California.  Just so happens that I am from Orange County.  I can't wait to visit their shop the next time I am back home.  I am glad you can order these aprons online.

I own the apron on the bottom left.  The style is called Grace.  The picture does not do it justice.

Heavenly Hostess have many styles, colors and patterns of aprons.  They also carry matching accessories to match some of their other styles. Check them out and let me know what you think.

I Am In Love With A Lipstick A Review Givenchy Le Rouge

304 Mandarine Boléro - muted red orange

The other day I made a purchase at Sephora.com.  I had racked up over 750 points so I decided to pick a trial sized Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick.  Its a demi-matte formula. I have not had luck with a demi-matte lipstick before but I decided to use 100 points anyway.

There was no choice in color so I ended up with  103 Brun Creatéur - dusty rose.

The shade looked good on me. The thing I noticed most was the creamy texture.  It felt so good on my lips.  The most amazing this was that it lasted on my lips for a long time.

Never in my life have I experienced a lipstick this good. Despite the price tag $36,  I have decided to purchase this lipstick in the full size.  The picture above shows you the shade I want.  I highly recommend you go to Sephora and give it a try.  As an added bonus, the case  is made from leather.  Talk about luxury!

Kate Spade Flats I Lusted Years For

Years back I lusted after the Kate Spade flats with a touch of sparkle. At the time, there was no way I could afford them so I tried a D.I.Y. approach.

I went and found a good quality leather flat and then went to Absolutley Audrey to purchase a shoe clips.

You can see for yourself the shoes turned out nice. Not the same as the Kate Spade but beautiful enough.

Time To Change - Life Makerovers Part One

There will be a lot of changes coming into my life in the near future. However I need to live for today and my life has become less than exciting lately.  I need a new routine. I need to get back to taking pictures.  I want to read more.

One thing I have failed to realize until now is I have a lot of things at my disposal that I do not use. For instance, I live in a beautiful area. Right in my backyard I have woods to hike. I live on a hill that makes for some good, challenging walks. My town has plenty of interesting places to go take pictures of.

I have missed out on probably hundreds newer movies because I only love old movies.  I have Netflix and  I barely use it. No more do I want to waste money on something I could be using to catch up on newer films.

I have a DVR full to the max of movies and TV shows just waiting to be watched.

It sounds funny to say I want to spend more time watching TV but I look at it as a chance to catch up. People will stop saying to me, "I can't believe you haven't seen that movie."

One thing I want to change is stop being such a news junkie.  There have been times I have gone news strike and let me tell you, I never felt more calm.  Lets face it, we have enough to deal with our daily lives and the bad news brings me down.

I still keep up with the news but online. I do not want to be totally ignorant to what is happening in the world around us.

Don't get me started about books. I have a whole bunch of self-help and spiritual books I haven't touched. I am determined to spend the summer reading all of them. Then I want to start on a mixture of subjects.

This is the end of part one.  Part two coming soon.
